Mike McGeary (PRO) is the batter. He dropped a fly to short left field which was cleverly caught on the run by the LF (George Wood) while both

runners took off sure that it was a safe hit. (OUT 1)

LF then fired the pellet in to the 3B (Art Whitney) who touched the bag to double off the runner from third, Tom York (OUT 2)

3B next tagged the runner from second, John Peters, who had traveled to third base (OUT 3)

Jack Glasscock (CL2) is the batter. He struck out, but the C (Silver Flint) took care to drop the third missed strike, then he touched the plate,

forcing the runner from third, Ned Hanlon (OUT 1)

C then sent the ball like lightning to the 1B (Cap Anson) who first touched the runner at first, Frank Hankinson (OUT 2)

Frank Hankinson (CL2) is the batter. He popped a short fly to the 2B (Jack Farrell) who muffed the ball. The 2B then ran to second to tag the

runner from second, Doc Kennedy, who had not attempted to advance (OUT 1)

2B then stepped on the middle sack to force out the runner from first, Bill Phillips (OUT 2)

John O'Rourke (BSN) is the batter. He knocked a bounding ball to the 3B (George Bradley) who touched the runner at third, Jim O'Rourke, before

 he could get back to his base (OUT 1)

3B, turning quickly, threw across the diamond to the 1B (Joe Start) before the batter, John O'Rourke, could reach first (OUT 2)

Meanwhile, the runner from first, Curry Foley, was lagging between first and second and the 1B Start's throw to the 2B (Jack Farrell) was

3B then touches the third sack to double off the runner caught off that station, Edward Nolan (OUT 2)

3B next fires across the acreage to the 1B (Joe Start) to nab the runner caught way off the initial station, Blondie Purcell (OUT 3)

P then turns and fires the ball over to the 3B (Pop Smith) to double-off the runner caught off that base, Jack Gleason (OUT 2)

John Morrill (BSN) is the batter. He struck out and did not run, but the C (Deacon White) dropped the ball, quickly picked it up and threw to the 3B

(Davy Force) who retired the runner from second, Pete Hotaling (OUT 1)

Meanwhile, the runner from third, Sam Wise, crossed home plate but the umpire ruled his score could not count. 3B threw to the 2B (Hardy

Richardson) who forced the runner from first, Ezra Sutton (OUT 2)

2B then threw to the 1B (Dan Brouthers) to retire the batter, John Morrill (OUT 3). The umpire's decision was challenged by the Bostons and for

a time their withdrawl from the game seemed imminent. The umpire's decision stood.

Silver Flint (CHN) is the batter. He hit a short hopper to the P (Mickey Welch) who pivoted and threw to the 1B (John Smith) to retire the batter

(OUT 1)

1B then threw across the infield to the SS (Fred Pfeffer) who tagged the runner from the middle station, Fred Goldsmith, who was caught

between second and third (OUT 2)

SS next tossed the horsehide to the C (Buck Ewing) who applied the tag at home to the runner from third, Tom Burns (OUT 3)
